Fiona Apple sings new Christmas song, "Trump's Nuts Roasting On An Open Fire"

Fiona Apple, once the world-record holder for longest album title before being surpassed by Chumbawamba, of all people, has been out of the spotlight since she released her fourth album, The Idler Wheel… in 2012, but now she’s back with a “new song” (OK, just a tossed-off social media novelty), “Trump’s Nuts Roasting On An Open Fire,” an anti-Trump parody holiday anthem shared on a fan Tumblr. Phew, 64 words. Not quite on Fiona’s level, but not bad for a lede.

Fiona Apple-centric Tumblr uploaded the video, which features Apple singing such heavy-hitting lyrics as “Everybody knows some money and entitlement / Can help to make the season white / Mothers of colour with their kids out of sight / Will find it hard to sleep at night.”

Well, it might not turn back the clock, and that mothers line is kind of um, ‘problematic’, but you gotta admit that dog bark percussion is pretty tight.
