At the end of each week, #Top40Tweets lists a cross-section of artists on the current pop charts and puts their tweets on display (along with their current chart number) for your enjoyment/scrutiny. This week, we look at 5 artists on the Billboard Music Charts.

#11: Rihanna – S&M

What a coincidence! Every single day my housekeeper walks into the room and catches me polishing off a bag of Funions, and I start to cry.  And by “housekeeper,” I mean “dog.”  And by “dog,” I mean “no one.”  Rihanna and I *ARE* soulmates.

Worth Following?: Yes. I’m going to go out on a limb right now and declare Rihanna the reigning Queen of pop music. All hail the Onion Queen!

#15: Ke$ha – Blow

It’s a close call, but I feel the Ke$ha Hierarchy of Tweets just played out as follows: Ke$ha’s Weird Tooth Thing < Ke$ha’s use of “Boner Dethroner”

Worth Following?: Yes. If Rihanna is the reigning Queen of Pop Music, Ke$ha is Princess Beatrice, getting wasted in the back, wearing that crazy hat.

#76: Beyonce – Run The World (Girls)

Check the rest of what Diplo (who produced Run The World with Major Lazer-mate Switch, using their smash hit Pon De Floor) said here.

Worth Following?: Yes. It’s kind of weird seeing how grammatically incorrect Diplo is on his Twitter, because he looks so savvy and smart in that Blackberry commercial. But at the end of the day, Pon De Floor rules, Run The World rules, and Diplo is the coolest dude. HATERS GON’ HATE, DIPLO.

#3: Lady Gaga – Edge of Glory

Huh?

Even when Gaga “tushie-tweets” it creates a hashtag with millions of responses and a billion retweets. She’s so effortlessly viral.

Worth Following?: Yes, if you can wade through the pseudo-pretentious bullshit she often spouts on Twitter, it’s pretty fascinating to see someone emphatically ruling the kingdom she created.

#35: Steven Tyler – (It) Feels So Good

It’s because your book is written in 72-pt font and all caps, Steven. Also, can we just make note of the fact that Steven Tyler just said “FUK” to a 13 year-old girl?

Worth Following?: Yes. Steven Tyler is a freaky weirdo, and I’ve been loving every minute of him as a judge on American Idol. I’d be lying if I said I haven’t had his new song stuck in my head since I heard it. Check out the video to see him hanging out with a sloth.
