Courtney Love gives a candid (even for her) interview to addiction recovery publication The Fix

Courtney Love has pretty much said and done it all in her uner-a-microscope career, yet the lightening rod for controversy has opened herself up for a candid interview with The Fix about her long-standing, ongoing struggles with addiction.

The Fix is a website about addiction and recovery and last September, when Courtney basically bailed (i.e. was running on Courtney time, i.e. was like four hours late) on a concert for the recovery community in New York, the editor asked her to give an interview about her own struggles. What resulted was a series of conversations that took place over eight months, and the final product is this sprawling two-part confessional about the celebrities she’s saved, the one’s whose butt she’s snorted coke off of, and dipping in and out of cocaine, heroin, and prescription medication addiction and sobriety.

It’s long, at times annoying, but like most everything Love does, it’s also quite compelling. Read part one here, and part two here.
