At the end of each week, #Top40Tweets lists a cross-section of artists on the current pop charts and puts their tweets on display (along with their current chart number) for your enjoyment/scrutiny. This week, we look at 7 artists on the Billboard Music Charts.

#43: Mike Posner – Bow Chicka Wow Wow

Posner nailed it. But the real question is, who is worse: The Ashleys or Randall Weemes?

Worth Following?: Yes. Mike Posner’s Twitter presence is arguably more consistent than his music, since he has yet to eclipse the 2010 banger “Please Don’t Go”. That said, warm weather is around the corner, and I have a feeling that Posner will deliver another feel-good Summer anthem soon.

#21: Usher – More

You mean when R&B shifted from heartfelt lyrics and organic musicianship, to auto-tuned Euro-trash party songs? DON’T ACT LIKE YOU WEREN’T A PART OF THIS, USHER RAYMOND.

Worth Following?: Nope. Usher’s cool and all, but his social media use certainly shows his age. His updates are few and far between, littered with spelling and grammatical errors, and he always signs his tweets with URIV. U-R-SO-OLD. #dissed

#17: Wiz Khalifa – No Sleep

Yeah, one of those dreams. I get it. #huh?

Worth Following?: Yes. His new Benny Blanco produced single “No Sleep” is a bit bland, but his Twitter account is a direct unfiltered stream of consciousness from someone who has entirely too much money, and an unending supply of the strongest medicinal marijuana money can buy.

#12: Bruno Mars – Grenade

THIS JUST IN: BRUNO MARS WARY OF SHRINKAGE.

Worth Following?: No. Bruno is a dink. A wee bit of trivia, though: Bruno co-wrote “Bow Chicka Wow Wow”, the Mike Posner single featured earlier in this post.

#19: Tinie Tempah – Written In The Stars

That’s weird, I thought all English people had good taste in everything.

Worth Following?: Yes. Despite his penchant for Todd Phillips films, Tinie Tempah is pretty rad. Also, I find it helps if you read his tweets with an accent. It just sounds smarter, you know?

#15: Nicki Minaj – Moment 4 Life

How is there not a clip of this on Youtube? YMCMGKC (Young Money Cash Money Go-Kart Crashaz).

Worth Following?: Yes. The general rule for Young Money is to follow them all, if you’re into living vicariously through young, rich, and insane hip hop personalities.

Here’s the current roster (some of these names sound made up, but I assure you, they are legit):

#11: Ke$ha – Blow

#badlifechoices

Worth Following?: Yes. Ke$ha recently invaded the Kool Haus in Toronto on her Get $leazy Tour, and brought her brand of mindless hedonistic debauchery direct to fans like @crashstatus. Do you think John Ranic is pounding the pavement today? Did he wake up in the morning feeling like P-Diddy, brush his teeth with a bottle of Jack, and dance like he’s dumb all the way down to his local Starbucks? I can’t tell if that’s an insult to baristas, or Ke$ha fans.
