Former Smiths vocalist Morrissey says he’s finished writing his autobiography and hopes for it to be published sometime next year.

“I’ve reached the re-drafting, trimming stage,” the singer revealed to BBC Radio 4. “I’ve been through the whole life in many ways and I just wonder if 660 pages are too much for people to bear.”

Although no publishing deal has been arranged, Morrissey says he would like the book to come out on the Penguin Classic series, a line generally reserved for literary classics. But then again, this is Morrissey we’re talking about here.

He also reiterated he has no intention of re-uniting with his former bandmates, even though guitarist Johnny Marr recently left The Cribs to work on other material. “It won’t happen. There’s no point. There really is no point at all that I can think of, and that’s that.”
