Every year, the Grammy Awards makes changes to its procedures, but today, they announced the biggest overhaul in their 53 years.

The Recording Academy and Grammy big-wigs stated today at the Academy’s headquarters in Santa Monica that the Awards would have 31 fewer categories, the most noteworthy change being the removal of gendered awards in the pop, R&B, rock and country categories. It remains to be seen whether Twitter will be happy that the program will be shorter, or annoyed that the trimming of the fat gives them less time to complain about the Grammys all night while watching the Grammys.

The full list of changes can be read over at Billboard.
