Rob Zombie’s previous films include House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil Rejects and two remakes of the classic horror film Halloween. Yesterday it was reported he would be directing a new Motley Crue film, but he has now confirmed to Undercover.fm that he has nothing to do with the project.
“I don’t know where that [rumor] came from,” he said regarding the story that was originally published on Billboard, which used a quote from drummer Tommy Lee saying Zombie was on board to direct the screen adaptation of the band’s memoir The Dirt.
Motley Crue released The Dirt – Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band in 2002. It was put together by Neil Strauss and documented the band’s antics in the ’80s and ’90s. [Gibson]
