Fred Durst has been closely associated with red Yankees baseball caps, starting the Woodstock ’99 riot and, if voters have their way, he could have a Solid Waste Department in Texas named after him.

The city is holding a poll asking citizens to suggest a new name for the Department. Several of the suggested names thus far include Department of Neat & Clean and Austin Recycling & Waste Reduction Department, but the leading candidate is the Fred Durst Society of Humanities & Arts, which has already attracted over 11,000 votes. (Psst, vote here).

Other suggested names include the George W. Bush Institution of WMD Removal, Hufflepuff, and Ella Fitzgerald. Though they’ve failed to attract the same enthusiasm as Fred Durst. [NME]
