Surprise! Limp Bizkit's concert at a Sunoco was a hoax.

You know how gullible you can be when you’re super high? (I mean, that’s what I’ve heard, anyway). Well, it looks like some enterprising Internet troll decided to take advantage of that, to great comedic effect.

In yesterday’s lead up to the weed-smoking bonanza that is 4/20, rumours began circulating online that nu-metal titans Limp Bizkit would be playing at a gas station in Dayton, Ohio today (the Sunoco at Keowee Street and Wayne Avenue, to be precise).

To be fair, the idea of Fred Durst pulling a publicity stunt like that and making lots of shitty puns about the crowd needing to get “gassed up” before launching into “Break Stuff” isn’t totally implausible. Still, to the dismay of the Dayton Limp Bizkit Fan Club, the whole thing was quickly revealed to be a hoax.

Hilariously, the first organization to dispel the rumours was the Dayton Police Department, who, fearing a yankee hat wearing meathead-fueled riot of “Nookie” music video proportions, tweeted this Snopes.com-worthy image.

And for those hoping this was just Babylon trying to keep the youth/middle aged down, Papa Bizkit himself went on record as well:

Oh well. Heartbroken Buckeyes, if you need your Bizkit fix you can cross the border and hit up Quebec’s Amnesia Rockfest where you’ll also be treated to the pseudo-rap bonus of Insane Clown Posse!

Of course, if you really need that gas station experience and accompanying hot dog flavoured water jokes, just trek over to Pittsburgh where Limp is purported to be playing a 24 hour set at the Butler Street Getgo. God I love you, internet.
