Earnesty makes us uncomfortable, sometimes. In a new YouTube video, (former?) Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump gets a bit lost in the moment as he delivers an a cappella mash-up of contenders for Record of the Year at the 2011 Grammy’s. You can watch the video below.

The list includes familiar hits by Eminem and Rihanna, Cee Lo Green, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, B.o.B. and Bruno Mars, and Lady Antebellum, and the video includes a lot of in-the-air diva hand gestures and really un-self conscious note-hitting head wiggling. Stump does have a pretty killer voice, and he totally goes for it. On second thought, this is sort of, by some uncomfortable internet rulebook, awesome.

Stump has been busy recording (and re-recording) his solo debut Soul Punk (yeah, we know), for over a year. Perhaps fittingly, he’ll be writing, performing, and producing everything on the album by himself. Maybe he should get in touch with this guy. Or Glee.
