Soundgarden to release first live album in March

Back in 1996, Soundgarden toured the west coast in support of their fifth studio album Down on the Upside, an album critics cited as a pop record compared to the band’s earlier heavy metal-influenced releases.

Whichever Soundgarden ‘period’ you prefer, the shows from ’96 were recorded and have been put together for a new 17-track live album called Live on 15 due out March 22, according to the band’s official website.

Remarkably, this will be the Seattle band’s first ever live album release and is said to celebrate the reunion they had last year. The new album will feature tracks from their entire catalog and includes some early alternative rock staples like “Fell on Black Days”, “Spoonman” and “Black Hole Sun”.
