Thanks to a post on the band’s Twitter page by guitarist Tom Dumont, it has been revealed No Doubt are currently in the studio recording what will be their first album since 2001’s Rock Steady.

The band spent some time in the studio last year mostly writing new material, but apparently it was their New Year’s resolution to start recording a new album, which began today.

This new album will be the Anaheim, California band’s sixth following Rock Steady, a record that was nominated for a Grammy Award and also saw them experimenting with dub and synthpop.

A world tour has been planned to coincide with the release of the as-yet-untitled album.
