Gorillaz unveil new band member: 'The Evangelist'

Gorillaz have added one new band member to their ensemble: a creature known as ‘The Evangelist.’
A couple months ago, an online contest was held to help create a new cartoon member under the name. The band then posted various details about the new character, including how he/she “is the opposite of The Boogieman.”
Over 5,000 drawings came in and over 175,000 votes were counted before determining the winner. Gorillaz fan jirouta’s adaptation of “The Evangelist” was selected and redrawn by comic book artist Jamie Hewlett, co-creator of the band’s original drawings.
