It’s no secret Crystal Castles deliver quite the energetic live show with lead vocalist Alice Glass almost always jumping on and off huge amps and hurling herself into the audience. And despite being hospitalized in Tokyo with an ankle injury, the band has said they will not miss any of their upcoming gigs, even one at the Big Day Out festival in New Zealand today.

According to NME, Glass re-aggravated an ankle injury at a show on Tuesday in Japan and was taken to hospital where other member Ethan Kath said it “appears that she has a broken ankle.” Apparently she previously injured it at the end of their last European tour.

While many skeptics of the band, especially in their hometown of Toronto, may not like the duo for the type of music they play or how they’ve been somewhat unreceptive to the media, the fact that despite having a serious injury they’re continuing on playing shows and showing some toughness has to be admired. That, or they’re just REALLY strapped for cash.
