This morning's new music news; Paul van Dyk will be touring North America early next year, Gorillaz' new album 'The Fall' is available to download online and the new U2-scored Spider-Man musical completed its first preview show without any accidents.

Paul van Dyk will be heading to North America for a brief tour which includes two Canadian dates in Toronto and Montreal. He’ll be at the Kool Haus in Toronto on January 29 and at Montreal’s Telus Theatre on February 18. A new album is expected sometime this summer. [Exclaim!]

Gorillaz’ new album The Fall is currently available to download for members of the band’s fan club over at their official website. The album was recorded while the band were touring North America this past Fall using an iPad.

And estimated to be the most expensive musical in history, the U2-scored Spider-Man musical entitled Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark completed its first preview show last week after experiencing technical problems. One of the actors was hospitalized after falling 20 feet during one of the rehearsals. The play is set to open February 7 in New York. [BBC]
