Because “sell out” wasn’t overused enough when Blink 182 got popular, Sleigh Bells have been on the receiving end of such scrutiny following the success of their album Treats. But unlike Nelly (and his Air Force Ones), the two-piece are baffled by the negativity and have hit back at haters via Facebook:

“I don’t understand people accusing us of selling out. From who, what, where, how? We’ve been a band for half a second. What are we supposed to stay broke our entire careers? Just listen to the music and enjoy. If you’re too elitist to do that then don’t fucking listen! Sorry…just sayin”

Unsurprisingly, the responses have been of the “hell yes!” variety, as fans have “liked” and responded to the status pledging their unconditional support. After all, it’s not 2002 anymore – licensing songs is a means of survival, not just a way of snagging an Escalade.
