This morning's new music news; A new Michael Jackson album of unreleased material is due out next month, Red Hot Chili Peppers are hoping to release their next album at the beginning of summer 2011 and Pearl Jam will release a new live compilation album in January.

A new Michael Jackson album entitled Michael consisting of unreleased songs will be released on December 14. According to the release, “fans will get mind-blowing insight into how this artist worked and a chance to hear the songs he most recently created, along with tracks that Michael had a desire to bring to fruition.” The cover art (above) was painted by Kadir Nelson.

A new album from Red Hot Chili Peppers is expected at the “beginning of summer 2011,” according to lead vocalist Anthony Kiedis. “The big difference, writing wise, for this album is Flea got his piano playing together, and so instead of him coming in with really cool ideas for the bass guitar, he’d come in with really cool ideas for the piano.” [Consequence of Sound]

And Pearl Jam will release a live compilation album called Live On Ten Legs in January. The album has 18 songs recorded live from 2003 to 2010 by the band’s engineer John Burton. [NME]
