This morning's new music news; Katy Goodman from Vivian Girls has released a new single as La Sera, a biopic about Joe Strummer is in the works and Robert Plant will be touring North America next year.

Katy Goodman from Vivivan Girls has recently put out a new single under La Sera and has revealed plans for a debut LP. The self-titled released, which has been described as “warm celestial-pop melodies that echo with the dreamlike effect of a church choir and effuse a softer, less aggressive sound than the Vivian Girls,” will be released on February 15. A new biopic about the late Clash member Joe Strummer entitled Joe Public is currently in the works. According to Screendaily, Paul Viragh will be in charge of the script. [NME]

And Robert Plant will be taking his Band of Joy on the road early next year for dates across North America. The only scheduled Canadian gig is in Toronto at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts on January 22. [Consequence of Sound]
