This morning's new music news; Weezer have revealed the inspiration for naming their forthcoming album 'Hurley,' Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood is set to release a solo album called 'I Fell Like Playing' and Bjork has released a new music video for "The Comet Song."
Weezer’s cover art for their next album Hurley is needless to say eye catching, and recently guitarist Brian Bell revealed that the inspiration for the name stems from a cross-promotion with a clothing company. “The inspiration came from a surf company called Hurley that was funding the record at the beginning of the recording process, and we actually did some sort of advertisement,” Bell said. “I don’t even know how they’re tied in so much, although we got some clothes and we did a photo shoot where we’re wearing these clothes, and I think we’re selling these clothes in malls.” [Exclaim!]
The Rolling Stones’ guitarist Ronnie Wood has announced details of his seventh solo album entitled I Feel Like Playing that’s set for release in late September. The album will feature contributions from Eddie Vedder, Flea, Slash, Kris Kristofferson, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, Bobby Womack and Faces’ Ian McLagan. [NME]
And Bjork has released a new music video for “The Comet Song” from the 3-D film Moomins And The Comet Chase. Watch it below. [Stereogum]
