The Social Network is an upcoming film by David Fincher about the foundation of Facebook. It is an adaptation of the book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal by Ben Mezrich and stars Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Rashida Jones, and Justin Timberlake.

Recently, as in yesterday it was announced Trent Reznor has taken time from his designated ‘free time’ and other work with How To Destroy Angels to write the score for the film with longtime collaborator Atticus Ross. Reznor talked about being chosen to score the film and it’s current status on a post on the Nine Inch Nails Hotline website.

“When I actually read the script and realized what he was up to, I said goodbye to that free time I had planned,” Reznor said. “Atticus Ross and I have been on a creative roll so I asked him if he wanted to work on this with me and we signed on. Months later, I’m happy to tell you we”re nearing the completion of this and I couldn’t be happier with how it’s turned out. The level of excellence that David operates on is inspiring and the entire process has been challenging and truly enjoyable.”

Later on in the post Reznor says the upcoming film is “really fucking good. And dark.” This upcoming movie probably is a little dark like Reznor says in a Boiler Room-type of way and it has to be if JT is playing one of the lead roles. You can watch the trailer below.
