This morning's new music news; Three Mile Pilot will release their first album in 13 years this September, Gorillaz have announced a world tour and will play a gig in Montreal on October 3 and Klaxons have revealed some info about the cover art for their next album, which features a cat in a spacesuit.

Three Mile Pilot will release their first album in 13 years called The Inevitable Past is the Future Forgotten on September 28. The band formed in 1990 and their last album Another Desert, Another Sea was released back in 1997. [Exclaim!]

Gorillaz have announced some dates for their upcoming world tour in support of their last album Plastic Beach. The band kicks off the tour in Montreal at the Bell Centre on October 3, their only Canadian date announced so far. The tour will take them to North America, obviously, Asia, Europe and Australia. And Klaxons have revealed the details behind the cat cover art, a current trend, for their upcoming album Surfing The Void, due out August 23. “That’s actually my cat, I got him from Hackney two Christmas’ ago,” singer/bassist Jamie Reynolds told NME. “His name’s Orphee [after the 1949 French film] but I just call him Boy because I don’t want to stand out the back of my house screaming ‘Orphee!’.” [NME]
