This morning's new music news; Ratatat have announced the title and release date for their new album, former Ramones manager's PA is sentencedand Sir Bob Geldof and Bono will be editors at the Globe and Mail for one day.

Electronic duo Ratatat are set to release their next album called LP4. Following 2008’s LP3 the new disc features 12 tracks and will be released on June 8. Pitchfork has an exclusive listen to the new song “Party With Children.” [Pitchfork]

Natavia Lowery, convicted of killing former Ramones manager Linda Stein has been sentenced to “27 years to life” in prison. It is believed Lowery stole roughly $30,000 from Stein and then beat her to death with a piece of exercise equipment. [NME]

And on May 10 Bono and Sir Bob Geldof will serve as guest editors at The Globe and Mail for the issue “Emerging Africa.” In a statement Bono said, “I’m a huge fan of great journalism — I can’t wait to show up for work at the Globe. Our aim in this special edition is to crack down on a few stereotypes and showcase the opportunities surrounding the African continent, not just the problems.” [Exclaim!]
