This morning's new music news; Members from TV on the Radio have composed the soundtrack for a documentary called The Lottery, Johnny Marr has contributed to the soundtrack for the upcoming Christopher Nolan-directed flick, Inception and Gorillaz will replace U2 at Glastonbury.

Members Tunde Adebimpe and Gerard A. Smith from TV on the Radio have composed the score for a new documentary called The Lottery. The doc follows four New York families who enter into a lottery so their kids can go to a charter school that has very little enrollment. Check out the trailer at the film’s official website. Staying with scores and soundtracks Johnny Marr, the current guitarist for The Cribs has contributed to Christopher Nolan’s upcoming movie, Inception. Soundtrack composer Hans Zimmer said, “There is orchestra, but the electronics share an equal spotlight, and I also have Johnny Marr playing guitar. Besides Johnny and the orchestra, everything else stays virtual throughout the mix.”  [Exclaim!]

And Gorillaz will replace U2 at this year’s Glastonbury Festival after Bono’s emergency spinal surgery has left the band unable to perform and have since postponed their North American tour. Last year Gorillaz singer Damon Albarn performed at the festival with Blur. This will be Gorillaz’s only UK festival appearance this summer. [6Music]
