This mornings music news; Jack White talks about his collaboration with Jay-Z, a rare Led Zeppelin recording has been found, and Kate Nash has completed writing her new album.

In an interview with GQ, Jack White has revealed he has collaborated with rapper Jay-Z on a new record. “We did a song together a few weeks ago,” White said. “It was incredible. I played him something that I’ve been kicking around for a while and he immediately came out with words for it. It’s unbelievable-sounding.” No details of when we’ll get to hear the new track have been released. [GQ]

A rare recording of Led Zeppelin’s 1971 gig at St. Matthews Baths Hall in Ipswich has been found at a car boot sale. Music fan Vic Kemp was perusing through CD’s when he stumbled upon the disc and paid only a couple pounds for it. “It doesn’t have a proper cover and the title is just written in felt-tip pen,” Kemp said. “It must have been recorded by someone standing at the front with a microphone. You can hear (singer) Robert Plant talking to the audience quite clearly.” [Evening Star]

And Kate Nash has finished writing 16 new songs and is now looking for a producer to help her finish the upcoming album, My Best Friend is You. Nash hopes it will come out this summer. This album follows 2007’s Made of Bricks. [BBC]
