Along with today’s digital release of the single “Superfast Jellyfish,” off the album Plastic Beach, Gorillaz are including a online game called “Escape to Plastic Beach.” The game, which features original artwork, voiceovers from the band and several other songs from the new album, takes players on a journey to the band’s new headquarters on Plastic Beach. The new single has guest vocals from De La Soul and Super Furry Animals’ Gruff Rhys. Speaking about the release, bassist Murdoc Niccals said, “El Caminos, Boogiemen, ghostly pirate ships, underwater chases, mines, fat cops and gun battles all wrapped up in some snazzy new gaming technology and a great new Gorillaz grack too…I mean, what more could you want?” Play the Plastic Beach game at the band’s official website.
