This mornings new music news; We may have seen the last of fall out boy, the strokes reveal some news on their forthcoming album, and Lil Wayne prepares to start his 12 month prison sentence next week.

We may have seen the last of Fall Out Boy. It looks like The Simpsons will not put Milhouse back in that role and make him say ‘jiminy-jillikers’ again and again. Oh and Fall Out Boy the band may also quit for good too. The band has been on hiatus and in an interview with Spin, singer Patrick Stump said, “Whether we play again or not, I don’t know. If we do, it will be for the right reasons. If we don’t, it will also be for the right reasons.” We can only hope for the latter. [Spin]

Working with Joe Chiccarelli, who has produced work by Beck, The White Stripes and The Shins, The Strokes are currently recording their long awaited fourth album, according to their website. In the last few years each member has completed their own solo project with the most recent being singer Julian Casablancas’ electro rock album Phrazes for the Young released last year. And next Thursday, hip-hop artist Lil Wayne is going to the slammer. Wayne was sentenced to 12 months in prison for a gun possession charge back in 2007, but in the meantime is recording tracks for his next album Tha Carter IV. According to Rolling Stone, Wayne’s label is moving to New York to be close to him at Rikers Island and hopes to keep him connected to has fans via Twitter. [Rolling Stone]
