Jack White lives for Record Store Day, using the day to do something other than release a shitty b-sides compilation for fans to fight on eBay over. Taking a different approach than last year's liquid filled LP, he's planning on unveiling a vintage recording booth at his Third Man Records store this weekend.
Jack White lives for Record Store Day, using the day to do something other than release a shitty b-sides compilation for fans to fight on eBay over. Taking a different approach than last year’s liquid filled LP, he’s planning on unveiling a vintage recording booth at his Third Man Records store this weekend.
The vintage, refurbished 1947 Voice-o-Graph machine will run on custom Third Man tokens and allows users to record two minutes to a 6″ phonograph that’s ready almost as soon as they’re done singing, and while it’s being unveiled for Record Store Day, it’s expected to be a mainstay at the Nashville store from hereon out. Check the video up top to see how it works.
