This morning in new music; Noel Gallagher reads his victims impact statement, Diplo speaks about the new M.I.A album and Led Zeppelin sends their regrets.

According to his victim impact statement read aloud yesterday at Old City Hall in Toronto Noel Gallagher said, “I have been told that I will never really recover from the damage, and still feel painful twinges.” The former Oasis singer/guitarist was knocked over by Pickering’s Daniel Sullivan during Oasis’ performance of “Morning Glory” at V-Fest on Toronto Island back in 2008. Sullivan was in court to hear the statement and watch a video taken of the assault, which has turned his 15 minutes into over two years of abuse from loyal fans. He has already pleaded guilty, but will have to wait till April 21 to find out if he’s going to the slammer. [The Sun]

According to producer Diplo the new M.I.A. album, which follows 2007’s Kala, will be released this July. Speaking about the album itself, Diplo told MTV “It’s sort of like an Animal Collective/ gospel/ giant-drum record. And she’s singing on it. I think you might expect some rap/club music, but nothing on there. It’s more of a heavy record.” [MTV]

And add the UK’s Download Festival to the list of gigs Led Zeppelin have turned down to play. Festival chief Andy Coping told XFM he approached the band about reuniting to play the fest, which runs June 11-13th at Donington Park in Leicestershire, England. Zeppelin reunited for the first time in 27 years at London’s 02 Arena back in 2007. “It’s not what they want to do at the moment and that’s fine,” Coping said. “They probably never will, but everyone has a stab at it.” [XFM]
