This cheeky vanity project contains "Real and Imaginary Conversations."

James Franco is a talented guy. He’s also exceedingly weird.

Another performer who could be described as having those two attributes in spades is Lana Del Rey, so it’s no surprise the two have become friends. In fact, Franco penned an essay for V Magazine basically outlining how alike they were. Well, apparently he felt the need to expand his expression of their BFF-ness as he’s now written an entire book on the singer with co-author David Shields.

Of course, this is James Franco – so you know there’s got to be an odd twist of some sort. As the title suggests, Flip-Side: Real And Imaginary Conversations With Lana Del Rey will contain both actual discourses between the two and conversations Franco dreamed up in his head.

Here’s the best part of the whole thing that completely validates their friendship though: It was totally her idea. In the conclusion of the aforementioned V Magazine essay, he shared the following nugget: “I wanted to interview Lana for a book and she said, ‘Just write around me, it’s better if it’s not my own words. It’s almost better if you don’t get me exactly, but try.'” God bless you lovable weirdos.
