16 reasons Snoop Dogg is amazing at Reddit

Reddit is a magical place where Arnold Schwarzenegger casually gives workout tips to his fans and one where a meme-referencing cryptocurrency community raises $30,000 for the Jamaican Olympic bobsled team. And then there’s Snoop.
Of all the celebrity redditors, Snoop Lion might not be the most active—that honour probably goes to Zach Braff. He is, however, undoubtedly the coolest. You probably need proof, right?
When we first started keeping up with Snoop’s reddit habits, he was telling us he smoked 81, then 82 blunts a day. He’s since upped the ante in a big way.
1. He hijacks other celebrity AMAs. Like Bill Murray’s.
On January 17th Bill Murray hosted one of reddit’s infamous Ask Me Anythings. Its top comment?
That’s Snoop, username Here_Comes_The_King casually letting fans know that yeah, he’s blazed one with Bill Murray.
2. He wants Will Ferrell to play cowbell on his next album
Will Ferrell hosted an AMA himself earlier this month. Guess who the top voted commenter was.
We’d listen to it.
3. He offered to judge a drum-off between Ferrell and RHCP drummer Chad Smith
And maybe you’ve heard that Ferrell and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith are playing up their likeness with a drum-off for charity. Guess who’s down to judge it?
4. He’s ready for rainy days
In specific subreddits users can have flairs, usually of sports teams or colleges, but top Reddit users can have one permanently affixed to their names. You may have noticed that Snoop’s is fo drizzle, and yes, that means what you think it does. Here’s what went down in his first AMA from way back in December 2012.
5. He asks questions during his own AMAs
Another thing that happened during that AMA was when, either because nobody else did or because he just felt like it, Snoop asked, then answered, his own question. Man, Snoop is the best.
6. He’s a Reddit moderator (for /r/trees, natch)
And then there’s the reefer. Snoop is one of the moderators of /r/trees, Reddit’s pot smoking community, and while it’s likely a vanity title he did host the subreddit’s first annual Munchies awards last year on April 20th. Yes, Snoop took time out of his 4/20 celebrations to kick it with reddit.

But the most recent example of Snoop being just the best happened today, and only as a sidestep to the D-O-G-G’s newest thread.
After apologizing for not delivering some holiday videos, Snoop asked fans to tell their best love stories. He promised to record a video for the best one, and while the top voted response thus far is about a couple that met after a drunken piss in the bed, there’s another right out of You’ve Got Mail that should easily take the honours.
It’s a pretty long thread to summarize in an image, so I’ll summarize for conveniences sake. One Redditor told a story of a great date he had with someone he’d met on OKCupid, but closed it by saying his phone was stolen, he lost her number and she deleted her account. Thing is, she commented a few hours later. After a lengthy back and forth filled with corroboration and, eventually, images, everyone realized this was legit.
Because for all of his playfulness, love of weed and cadre of “nephews,” Snoop is endearing on reddit more than anything for bringing people together. What if these two get married?! We’ve always known Snoop as the catalyst to any good party, but now he’s playing cupid, too? Hot damn.
9. He offered Ron Paul handy advice
Presidential candidate (and noted libertarian) Ron Paul has been accused of being everything from a racist, to a homophobe, to a 9/11 conspiracy theorist. So Snoop offered him some sage advice.
10. He’s given proper counsel on serious topics, like the munchies
Sometimes, when we get really, really hungry, we get hit with a bout of indecisiveness. Do we grab the Doritos or the taquitos? Order a pizza or trek out for a poutine? Sometimes, the options are arresting. Thankfully, Snoop swooped in with a recommendation.
11. He knows that Juggalos need love, too
Even if Snoop isn’t down with the clown, he has a clear message to Juggalo haters: One love.

Sure, bacon is a tiresome meme on par with Sriracha and fucking science. But still, when in doubt, Snoop understands that smoky cured pork is the answer.
13. He revealed that he went to high school with Cameron Diaz
And it looks like they might’ve been friends.

His one year and 51 pages on Reddit is a lot to dig through, but trust that it’s worth the investment. Here are some final reminders of why:
He’s asked who he had to smoke out to get on Axe Cop, wondered if a championship figure skater ever smokes before he performs and once commented on a post in the nudity filled /r/naturaltitties with the word oohwwee. Oh, and he also revealed he’s pro-gun control.
Does this list seem like a lot? Cool. Good. Because Snoop really is that awesome.
