Months ago in a time before “Harlem Shake” there was a song so triumphantly popular that it shattered barriers of language and good dancing. We called it “Gangnam Style,” and today we are one step closer to hearing its imminent follow-up.

PSY says that he’s working hard on a new song, and its video, but that it’s not done yet. He says (via Music News) he’s “thinking of doing it by himself,” which means it’s barely started. He wants to prove he can do it “one more time,” referring to his last single’s success, and says the new single will be out sometime next month. That’s according to a new video he uploaded to YouTube, which you can watch above if you’re so inclined.

Let’s just say we wouldn’t want to be in PSY’s shoes. Imagine being a struggling South Korean artist whose songs have at times irked the country’s conservative roots. Imagine bumbling along until, at 35-years-old, you inexplicably cross over. Imagine the millions of dollars you would make and the adoration of fans across the world you’d get for that goofy song-and-dance of yours. And imagine the pressure that would follow.

Of course we’re lying: we’d love to be PSY. Did you catch the part about all the money and adoration? That’d be great!

As for what he’s got going on in the interim, a new remix-EP for the song is out now. We posted Diplo’s rendition earlier this week, which was surprisingly great.
