Oppa gentrification style!

The last time we talked about South Korean sensation PSY was to tally up the world’s total time spent watching his goofy-ass “Gangnam Style” video (16,000 years). He hasn’t made many waves on this side of the pond since the release of his 2013 follow-up/flop “Gentleman”, but now PSY is back in the news with the story of a nasty legal battle with some visual artist tenants of his Seoul building.

Billboard reports that 10 lawsuits have been filed by the residents of a Takeout Drawing, an artist residency, gallery, and venue in the six-floor building purchased by the YouTube star in 2012. They have occupied two of those floors since 2010, and are understandably upset about his eviction attempts to convert the entire property into a coffee shop. Oppa Grinder Style is now accepting franchise applications.

Supporters of Takeout Drawing have organized rallies to protect their space since they claim the singer sent in his “enforcers” to physically force them out. One artist was allegedly injured enough to require a two-week hospital stay. PSY has also filed defamation suits against the artists for their criticism posted online. We hope it looked a little something like the following:
