Claims that the Vaccines have made a career aping the Strokes hit new heights today with word that singer Justin Young was in a bar in Kiev when he heard what he thought was one of the Strokes’ less impressive tunes, which was true in one sense because the song was actually his band’s own “Post-Break-Up Sex.”

“I probably shouldn’t be telling you this but I was in a club in Kiev a while ago when this song came on,” said Young. “I was like, ‘I know this Strokes song but it definitely isn’t one of my favourites.’ Turned out it was ‘Post Break-Up Sex’.”

Derp.

Unfortunately Music News doesn’t report which Strokes song was playing. We think it might have been “The End Has No End.” Aside from the synths, both songs share a similar, dreary pace. It was the third and final single released off 2003’s Room on Fire, the last taste of a disappointing album. We’re not convinced, but we’re pretty close.
