Watch James Mercer's last will and testament in the new Shins video, "Simple Song"

James Mercer is doing a good job of making sure we’re looking to the new Shins album with high hopes, the latest move in the form of the video for first single “Simple Song.”

In the DANIELS-directed video, Mercer dies and leaves his children (the rest of the Shins) to go on a tear through the house, each trying to be the first to find and claim the estate. Ghosts of childhood haunt them, and Mercer does them all a favour in the end.

The video is available for now as a free download through iTunes. Port of Morrow is out March 20. [via Pitchfork]
