Kylie Jenner tried to trademark her first name. Kylie Minogue was having none of that.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians costar Kylie Jenner is no stranger to pumping up her ~personal brand~. One of the top 10 most followed people on Instagram, Jenner has her own cosmetics line, a PacSun clothing line, a hair care line, and a mobile app. But one thing she’ll never have is a trademark on her first name. At least not as long as Kylie Minogue has something to say about it.

The iconic Australian singer has allegedly successfully blocked a move by Jenner to trademark their shared first name. Minogue filed a letter against Jenner with the U.S. Patent and Trademarks Office, stating her status as an “internationally-renowned performing artist, humanitarian and breast cancer activist known worldwide simply as ‘Kylie.’” But she didn’t stop there, continuing to throw shade at Jenner, who the letter refers to as a “secondary reality television personality.”

The Telegraph reports that Minogue was successful, and that Jenner’s team is already prepping to submit an appeal.
