"You're not allowed to date for the first year of working for myself."

Hellish jobs no one should ever consider as on their career trajectory, unless they have absolutely no other choice: sewer worker, retail, and personal assistant to Mariah Carey, which technically qualifies as pest control. Diva service employment: Not Even Once™.

“It’s an abusive job, and I have a rule – you’re not allowed to date for the first year of working for myself. And also there’s no crying allowed in my office,” Mariah’s manager Stella Bulochnikov reportedly says about the assistant position in an upcoming eight-part new docu-series called Cruella’s World Mariah’s World.

“A personal assistant has to anticipate someone’s needs,” Stella is shown telling a new staff member. “A personal assistant has to wait by the door and have the sunglasses and the shoes ready.” Hm, I don’t have the raw data handy, but I think I’m gonna peg the Carey corporation turnover rate at about 99.7%. I doubt anyone’s made it past that first year and been mercifully allowed outside the Mariah-dome to date/plead with anyone who’ll listen to save them from their cruel empress.

Mariah’s World will premiere on E! on December 16th, and was to include scenes of Mariah’s ex-fiancé & billionaire James Packer, but he’s since been edited out after the couple split up following an altercation in Greece. Hm, didn’t see that coming.
