Prince's sisters told Al Roker it was always the plan to turn Paisley Park into a museum, and a quick walk through its halls prove it.

A while back, we shared the good news that came out of some sad, sad news: Prince’s Paisley Park was opening as a museum, and it was all part of the Artist™’s plan.

Today, on Today, Weatherman turned turned TV personality Al Roker gave early-rising stay-at-home parents, school skipping “sick” teens and their grandparents the first real look at Paisley Park’s future, running us around Prince’s studio, the award-adorned hallways, his basketball court turned concert hall and what appears to be a room entirely devoted entirely to Purple Rain. He also meets a curator of Prince’s “costumes,” as he calls them, and learns that the iconic superstar was a bit of a packrat and held onto roughly 6 thousand pieces of custom made clothing.

You can watch Roker’s tour below, or see some screenshots in the gallery. Paisley Park opens to the public this month — tickets are on sale this week. Expect them to sell out fast.
