Both Canadian and British bills can act like a turntable needle when held against your spinning records.

With the British Pound going to shit in the wake of the Brexit vote, Brits are looking for any way to buoy their plunging currency. I don’t know if this is going to be any help, but it’s pretty damn cool — an idle soul decided the first thing he should do with Britain’s newly introduced plastic £5 bill is take it to a vinyl record to see if it would magically play it like a turntable stylus. What a dummy, right?

Well, whaddya know.

News articles have claimed that this phenomenon doesn’t occur with other examples of plastic currency, including the Canadian dollar. I call bullshit – plastic is plastic, right? If only there was some way to prove them wrong….

I’ll take my interview now, thanks.
