Now, we all live in a world with an official Lego yellow submarine set.

UPDATE: The set is on sale now. You can buy it for $69.99 here.

Beatles superfans with a penchant for construction toys have probably tried to build Lego dioramas featuring their fav mop topped band, but became disappointed when their Ed Sullivan concert set just didn’t turn out that great. Well, now you won’t have to display any actual, you know, creativity or inspiration to build the world’s most famous quartet of Liverpudlians, because Lego has created an official set based on the Yellow Submarine film.

The kit comes complete with the titular submarine, George, Paul, John, and even goes on to include such Submarine ephemera as a Jeremy Hilary Boob figure… and even one of Ringo! Fingers crossed, everyone: this just might be one of the best toys based on a surreal psychedelic animated musical to come out this year.

The set is launching as part of the fan-designed Lego Ideas line, in which any member of the plastic brick-loving public can pitch their own idea for a kit, for which they will be paid a whopping 1% of the royalties if it gets approved and goes into production. To give you an idea of the demographic in play here: previous Ideas sets have been based on The Big Bang Theory, Minecraft, and Doctor Who. These aren’t exactly flying off the shelves into the homes of huge NFL fans, in other words.

An Ideas contributor named Kevin Szeto pitched the original design to the website, and his creation quickly racked up the 10k signatures needed to get Lego to consider making the design a reality. The set was greenlit for production last year, after some probably-enormous licensing deals, and the 550+ piece kit will be available for purchase in November.

What musical luminary will be next to become Lego-fied? The Ideas website has some potential selections…not to mention, we’ve had some ideas of our own in the past. Forget those, though, everyone knows there’s only one choice: let’s get the official Jimmy Buffet kit off the ground.
