A brilliant designer painstakingly built a working guitar from everyone's favourite plastic blocks.

Lego! What pop culture icons CAN’T they build?

Earlier this year, the toy company replaced Ferrari as the world’s most powerful brand, which isn’t surprising: adults and children alike have a fond emotional bond with the colourful blocks… and of course the company’s enormous stable of pop culture licenses doesn’t hurt.

Italian designer and proprietor of Pavan Wood Works, Nicola Pavan, decided to take his love of Lego and music to its logical conclusion, crafting a fully playable guitar out of… wait for it… you guessed it, Silly Putty! Sorry, I mean Lego! Based on the Fender Jaguar, everything but the strings, neck and electronics are 100% made out of Lego bricks, making it the perfect instrument to jam out to Ben Folds’ “Brick” or The White Stripes’ “Fell In Love With A Girl.” Just please not “Everything Is Awesome.” I think we’ve all had enough of that song for a lifetime.

Now all we need is band members made entirely out of Lego and we humans can sit back and take it easy, never having to play our own music again! Oh, that already happened? Great!
