Marvel's newest show has some hidden hip-hop cred.

As Marvel’s extended universe continues to grow, fans of its gritty Netflix offshoots are gearing up for Luke Cage the Jessica Jones spinoff set to premiere later this month.

Early reviews for the show are, almost uniformly, positive. Critics have lauded the show’s grit and, in-spite of its comic book roots, realism. The show is proud of its blackness, with io9’s Evan Narcisse calling the it the “unapologetically black superhero show” he’s been waiting for. Star Mike Colter, similarly, has called the show Marvel’s version of the Wire.

And if that wasn’t cool enough, there’s this: Each episode in the show’s first season is named after a Gang Starr track. Check it out below.

Episode 1 ”Moment of Truth”

Episode 2 “Code of the Streets”

Episode 3 “Who’s Gonna Take the Weight?”
