It features hits like "Nancy and Barb," "Lamps" and "Joyce and Lonnie Fighting."

Stranger Things is, undoubtedly, the hit of the summer. Its Stand By Me meets ET has filled a hole in our binge watching hearts that we didn’t know it had. We’ve already told you about the surprisingly musical cast; the inspiration behind that post was the show’s music itself.

Crafted by two guys from the band S U R V I V E, the show’s eerie synth backdrop was, at times, a scene stealer, and quickly fans began clamouring for an official release. Less a soundtrack than a score, Netflix has obliged — on Friday, they’ll release volume 1 of the Stranger Things soundtrack.

Featuring fan favourites like “Nancy and Barb,” “Lamps” and “Joyce and Lonnie Fighting,” the soundtrack could prove to be a mainstay for anyone who likes to be a little bit uncomfortable while they study, host a house party or a family friendly seance; like the work Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor did on The Social Network, but with a stronger sense of whimsy!

Anyways, yeah: It’s out on Friday, on streaming sites, and on CD, should your nostalgia be caught somewhere in the middle of when the show came out and when Napster still existed. No word on a vinyl release, as of yet.

Check out three songs below:
