The world's most diversified young actor and musician might explore a whole new galaxy.

With 2 successful TV series, a music career, and upcoming Spiderman role under his belt, Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino has already accomplished more than most, and now, he might become part of the most beloved movie franchises of all time. No, not Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Not bad for a dude who chose his rap moniker with a Wu-Tang Clan name generator.

Donald Glover – formerly the proud owner of twitter handle @donglover – is rumoured to be set to play lovable rogue and backstabbing rapscallion Lando Calrissian in an upcoming iteration of Star Wars, and it’s a big one – the Han Solo origin story. Obviously, this is gonna be a big one,  mostly because nerds everywhere gotta see what a young Chewbacca is like. Note: I am one of those nerds. Fingers crossed for a Nien Nunb cameo.

According to celluloid addicts over at Birth.Movies.Death, Glover is directors’ Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s first choice to play Lando, and, if true, that’s no idle possibility – after all, Lord and Miller have impeccable comedy credentials, and their first choice for Han made the cut even after L&M considered “hundreds, if not thousands” of other actors for the role.

Of course, this still just exists in the far, far away galaxy of rumour, but if true, expect donglover’s star to rise even higher than it has already. Damn…wish he had kept that Twitter.
