Sad about the DeLonge-free Blink? The internet's got you covered.

At last, pop-punk’s original rude dudes Blink-182 have a new album coming out in July, but the release of California will sadly mark the first Blink material minus guitarist and Ancient Aliens truther Tom DeLonge.

Longtime fans know that a crucial component of the band’s sound was DeLonge’s ultra-affected nasally wail… which is why it’s so weird to hear new songs like “Rabbit Hole” and “Bored To Death”, as good as they are, minus Tom’s trademark whine. Sure, Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba is filling in admirably, but the absence of DeLonge begs the eternal question: “if Mark and Travis jam in a a forest, is it still Blink-182?”

Thankfully, YouTube user Gonzalo Folli is on the job, and they’re determined to reinstate DeLonge no matter what it takes… even if that means imitating punk’s most irritatingly performative wail on both of California‘s recently revealed singles. Check out the results for yourself:

Our take? It’s good, but it’s no Whitmer Thomas. “There’s… spoidahs!”
