How would you feel if your favourite singer asked to join you on a song?

He may only be known by most for one song, but when that song is the ridiculously massive hit “Kiss From a Rose”, a guy like Seal is never going to lose his star power. That’s why Montreal busker Jason Deeh Pitre nearly soiled his sous-vêtements upon realizing the man who stepped out of the crowd to complement his singing was the ’90s hitmaker himself.

As he explained in a Facebook post, a “tall black man” came up to him and said: “You really touched me. You have an amazing voice!” to which he replied, “Excuse me… are you Seal?” Sure was.

The British singer’s follow-up, which was to request the two sing a duet, was all the more exciting (and nerve-wracking) for the amateur musician considering he’s actually a huge fan. Not only does he own every album, but it turns out that Seal’s self-titled 1994 sophomore release was the first album Pitre ever bought. The two decided on the classic tune “Stand By Me”, and though visibly nervous, Pitre showcases some impressive pipes.

All you youngins out there might be wondering “What’s the big deal? He’s a gentle-voiced British guy dressed like a garbageman.” Well, the latter part is absolutely accurate and I have no explanation other than he really wanted to not look like a superstar. But dude wrote “Kiss From a Rose” and then married Heidi Klum. Your argument is invalid.
