“I don’t look at it like a super group… I look at it like it’s an elite task force of revolutionary musicians come together at a historical moment to stir shit up.”

Those words came from Prophets of Rage guitarist Tom Morello in an interview with LA radio station KROQ. Last night, that elite task force (members of Rage Against the Machine with Zack de la Rocha replaced by Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Cypress Hill’s B Real) hit the stage for the first time.

As FACTMag reports, their debut performance at the Whiskey A Go Go included a new song called “The Party’s Over” dedicated to none other than Donald J. Trump. Morello also sported a hat with the slogan “Make America Rage Again.”

Prophets of Rage also mashed up the Beastie Boys’ “No Sleep Til Brooklyn” with Public Enemy’s “Fight The Power”, and cranked out the RATM classic “Killing In The Name” introduced by Chuck D with the following declaration: “There’s always a seat warm for Zack de la Rocha.” Watch fan footage below:

Previously, bassist Tim Commerford told Rolling Stone that the group had been granted approval from de la Rocha himself: “I spoke to Zack and got his blessing, and that’s really great.”

“We’re a family and there’s support across the board,” Commerford continued. “I support him and everything he does, and vice versa. I’ve definitely been keeping him in the know. You’re never going to replace Zack, and we aren’t trying to do that.”
