This Rick and Morty/Kendrick Lamar mash-up is brilliant

I’m guessing most of you are familiar with the animated sitcom Rick and Morty, but in case you hate laughter and don’t watch the show, here’s a quick primer: a raging alcoholic mad scientist (Rick) and his harried grandson (Morty) travel through time and parallel universes where a ton of fucked up shit happens. It’s as wonderful as it sounds, even if you’re not really, really high (but especially if you’re really, really high).

As an added bonus, it turns out the animation style of the Adult Swim sitcom lends itself particularly well to syncing show footage with other audio. YouTube user isthishowyougoviral has already knocked it out the park with mash-up vids like The Muppets rapping the Beastie Boys’ “So What’cha Want” and a Sesame Street version of “Tha Crossroads” by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, so it’s not surprising that his decision to combine a bunch of Rick and Morty footage with Kendrick Lamar’s “Swimming Pools (Drank)” is pure gold.

Even if it’s a little on the nose, you can’t deny the drool and vomit splattered scientist espousing the joys of getting hammered to a wide-eyed Morty in Kendrick’s voice is all kinds of perfect. And it’s still not the best Rick and Morty mash-up online. For an extra helping of time-travel funzies, here’s last year’s OCD-perfect sync of the show and Eminem’s “Rap God.”
