PREMIERE: Listen to Sightlines' new album "North"

Vancouver punk-tinged power-pop outfit Sightlines have a new album coming on April 15th, in a co-release between Alarum Records and Big Smoke, but you can listen to the whole of “North” (the quotation marks are part of the title) right now below.

At 11 tracks spread over just 26 minutes, “North” doesn’t mess around: Sightlines maintain a dizzying inertia and an enjoyable sense of whiplash between their grinding-yet-catchy power chords and singer/songwriter Eric Axen’s vulnerable, Blake Schwarzenbach-inspired vocals.

Jay Arner‘s production gives songs like “Parts Per Million” share more than just a song title with fellow rough-edge pop purveyors like The Thermals: Sightlines’ hooky DIY pop-punk assault sound like the Portland trio crossbred with Jawbreaker and Latterman.

North will be released on 150g 12” vinyl, and will be accompanied by a packed show schedule including a long awaited tour of western Canada. Catch Sightlines live at the following dates:
