Bat-Jam!

Things suck right now, so let’s get to something cheery in between Prince mourning sessions.

Eddie Vedder and his 7-year-old daughter Harper recorded an absolutely adorable version of the Batman theme and you need to hear it.

Debuted on the SiriusXM outlet Pearl Jam Radio, the redo of the 1960s TV theme tune combines the timelessness of singing “BAT-MAN!” with the assorted mental pictures of goons getting socked by Adam West. (Why this song hasn’t been adopted as a national anthem in the States is a mystery.) Harper Vedder hits the lyrics with gusto and we’re all given a gentle reminder that the Caped Crusader doesn’t have to be brooding to be cherished.

This isn’t the first time that Vedders Eddie and Harper have paired up for a song heard by the public. The Aloha soundtrack cut “The Traveler” also featured the dynamic duo. That song isn’t as Batman-heavy, mind you.
