Judge denies her 2pac defence because they weren't real lyrics.

Tupac Shakur rapped about a lot of things, but as far as I know that never included shooting an energy company employee for turning off your power. Haven’t heard Still I Rise, though, so the jury’s still out… maybe it’s one of the Outlawz’ verses.

Pittsburgh resident Antoinette Porterfield told a judge yesterday she was just quoting 2pac when she told a energy company’s customer service rep she was going to shoot anyone who tried to cut off her electricity. Charged with making terroristic threats towards electric utility company Duquesne Light, Porterfield said that she was “just talking smack” and that if she did threaten to shoot someone, it was probably just a quote from the legendary MC.

“I quote Tupac all the time, so if I did [threaten to shoot anyone], it was probably one of his lyrics,” she told Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Anthony Mariani.

Former Duquesne Light customer service representative Samantha Caruso testified in court that Porterfield referred to making bomb threats and said that if anyone came to her house to attempt to cut off the electricity, she was “going to shoot the (expletive). I’m not playing.” According to Pittsburgh’s Tribune Review, “That phrase does not appear in Tupac’s lyrics.”

Porterfield was found guilty, and was sentenced to two years of probation and 100 hours of community service. Maybe she was just quoting an unreleased posthumous track that didn’t make Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory?
